• How early should I arrive before my flight?
  Currently, Transport Canada recommends that US bound travellers arrive 3 hours before to their flight to allow for security screening and US Customs processing.
• What can I expect at Toronto Pearson if I am travelling to the US?

  Travelling to the US requires a multiple step process: 

  • Use the web or a kiosk to check in.
  • If you are checking in with an airline agent, or you have a bag to check, you are required to line up to speak with an airline representative.
  • Once you have checked in at Terminal 3, proceed to the US Customs hall.
  • Once you have checked in at Terminal 1, you will be directed to a waiting area, where guests will be called into the US Customs hall according to the time of their flight.
  • Following US Customs clearance, guests will move to the pre-board security screening area and then on to the gate to await their flights.

  
  

  Do you travel frequently to the US? You may wish to apply for a NEXUS card online or by visiting the NEXUS office located at the airport. NOTE: NEXUS card holders may enter the US Customs hall in Terminals 1 and 3 at any time with their valid NEXUS and US Customs cards.
   

• What documents do I need to travel to the US?

  In order to travel to the US or return to Canada, a valid passport or other permissible document (such as a NEXUS card) is required.
