Danville Park

Mississauga will soon be home to a brand new park, with more than 26 hectares of parkland for year-round activity. We’re proud to sponsor a unique aviation-themed feature in Danville Park, which will serve as a community gathering space.

At Toronto Pearson, we believe it’s important to be a good neighbour. That’s why we couldn’t be more excited to partner with the City of Mississauga to build an aviation-themed park feature in Danville Park.

The park’s highest point soars an impressive 25 metres above the surrounding area, where park-goers can watch planes as they fly to and from Toronto Pearson – a fun, unique activity for all ages!

We wanted this new space to be a reflection of the local community, so in late 2016, we asked the public and local neighbourhood to help choose its design and name.

Results
More than 1,250 people completed our surveys. The design chosen was “Aviation History,” incorporating a sleek overhead airplane, a painted runway, informational plaques and pinnacle posts denoting runway lighting. The space will also include design elements chosen by the public, including seating and viewfinders.
