Danville Park

Mississauga is now home to a brand new park, with more than 26 hectares of parkland for year-round activity. We’re proud to sponsor a unique aviation-themed feature in Danville Park, which serves as a community gathering space.

At Toronto Pearson, we believe it’s important to be a good neighbour. That’s why we couldn’t be more excited to partner with the City of Mississauga to build an aviation-themed park within Danville Park.

The park’s highest point soars an impressive 25 metres above the surrounding area, where park-goers can watch planes as they fly to and from Toronto Pearson—a fun, unique activity for all ages!

In late 2016, we asked the public and local neighbourhood to help choose its design and name in an effort to ensure that this new space reflects the community within which it’s situated.

More than 1,250 people completed our surveys. The design chosen was “Aviation History,” incorporating a sleek overhead airplane, a painted runway, informational plaques and pinnacle posts denoting runway lighting. The space was named “Final Approach - Danville Terminal” and includes design elements chosen by the public, including seating and viewfinders.

Construction was completed in September 2017.
