• Pearson Connects to Transit

Our region is growing, and that growth is driving air travel demand. By 2043, a staggering 90 million people will be looking to travel through Southern Ontario by air.

Toronto Pearson has a bold vision to help manage the number of travellers passing through the region.

As a worldwide connector of people and businesses and a driver of economic prosperity in the region, Toronto Pearson views enhanced access to transit at the airport as a priority. Scroll down to learn more about the partners who will help turn this vision for the region into a reality.

There are also many people whose job is to help make travellers' experiences memorable.

"I’ve been working as a Guest Service Representative with the UP Express since it started on June 6, 2015.

"I have many different responsibilities – I sell tickets, provide customer service, answer questions about all of the attractions in downtown Toronto, validate tickets onboard the train, and I also do regular safety checks on the platform.

"The part of my job that I enjoy the most is helping tourists. Most are here for a few days or a few hours ant they want to see the city. I’m here to provide all of the information they need to make the most of their trip. I also help a lot of passengers with language barriers.

"I’m from Ecuador and fluent in Spanish and I use Spanish a lot in my job – when helping passengers on the platform, onboard the train or even over the phone when my colleagues call me from Union Station with a Spanish speaking passenger who needs help.

"I love my job because of the interactions I have with guests – even though they’re only a few minutes long, I get to make a difference in someone’s travel experience, either with a smile, a 'good morning' or 'have a great trip.'

"For anyone travelling through Toronto Pearson with a few hours in between flights, I recommend taking the train downtown and experiencing the city. The top three sites I think travellers should see are the CN Tower, St Lawrence Market and Eaton Centre."
