Toronto Pearson 2024 Full-Scale Security Exercise Advisory

Toronto Pearson will be conducting an exercise on Saturday, June 8, 2024, overnight to Sunday June 9, 2024, as part of required regulations to organize a full-scale exercise relating to a security event (Canadian Aviation Security Regulations (CASR 2012), Section 208). The aim of this full-scale security exercise is to test the response capabilities of both airport personnel and external stakeholders in handling a simulated bomb threat to better plan procedure testing and to identify any possible deficiencies or gaps.

This year’s security exercise simulates a bomb explosion in Terminal 1 and will take place from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. Volunteers will assist by roleplaying as passengers – both injured (make up) and uninjured, and as their family and friends or members of the public.

If you were selected to be a volunteer, a member of our team would have reached out with an email confirmation.

Health, safety and security is the responsibility of all at Toronto Pearson. Thank you to our volunteers for taking the time to assist us with this exercise and helping to keep our airport safe.
