• Conversations about our future

Toronto Pearson is an important part of the region and your community. Our airport is growing as an employment zone and now as a transit centre. Global demand for air travel is behind our growth.

We’ve launched a series of initiatives to talk about growth and the impact of our operations, so we can ensure that our long-range plan addresses the concerns and priorities of residents.

    Two of these initiatives included:

    Public Workshops

We hosted five Public Workshops in communities to the north, south, east and west of the airport. More than 500 residents, including elected officials and member of the Residents’ Reference Panel, attended and provided feedback on our growth plans and ideas for mitigating the impacts of airport operations. Topics covered included:

    • Transit options for the airport and region
    • Managing and mitigating noise from aircraft
    • Engaging and informing residents about our operations
    • Strengthening our commitment to the environment

A summary of each meeting will be shared with members of our Residents’ Reference Panel, our Community Environment and Noise Advisory Committee, and the GTAA board.
